J tongue twisters

Here is a fun collection of tongue twisters with J. These silly sentences all contain words that have the J sound – /ʤ/. Not all of the words in these twisters are spelled with a j, there are also some soft G words that use the same sound.

Repeating the J tongue twisters out loud is a great way to practice this phoneme for both English as a second language learners and younger students in native English speaking countries. You find that some students will also learn some new words as they recite the phrases. For others, they can just be a bit of simple frivolous fun!

9 – A giant genie with a jade jackal was enjoying a jungle journey in Java. A jaguar joined the journey and joked about gems and jewels making the giant genie and the jade jackal jealous.

10- Huge jaws jut out, huge jaws jut out, huge jaws jut out.

11- A just judge and jury judicial judgment.

12- The gypsy jinxed a jester with danger magic on a jumbo jet to Jordan.

13- A junior jockey jogged with jeans, a jumper, and a jacket.

14- John jumps for joy at jukebox jazz and jingling jukebox jazz makes Jane jump joyfully.

15- Large giraffes enjoy huge oranges with ginger.

16- Genies jot jumbled jargon in giant journals.
