Whale templates and outlines

Here we have a big collection of whale templates and outlines for arts and crafts projects. There are blue whales, humpback whales, sperm whales, and more. There are also templates of whales breaching the ocean surface, and some with just their tails out of the water.

Whales are amazing creatures, and if you have ever been lucky enough to see one in the wild, you will know just how majestic they are. The sheer size of these mammals is something to behold as they gracefully cruise along the world’s oceans. There are around 40 different types of whales (depending on how they are classified), and they can be found in every ocean on our planet.

Make a 3D whale. If you print two whale templates that are the same, you can join them back-to-back. Staple along the edges of the whales and fill them with paper or foam to make cool 3D whales. Note that you will want to color them in before cutting them out if you want colorful animals.

Whale jigsaw puzzles. This is a great project for younger learners. Once you have printed a whale template that they like, turn the page over and draw different shapes on the back. Next, simply cut the shapes out, and you have a ready-made jigsaw puzzle that needs to be put back together.

Whale tail templates

Finally, we have some templates of whale tails that can be useful if you are looking for something a bit different. Their powerful tail fins are also known as flukes, and are what drive the animals to both dive deep underwater and up and out of the ocean when they jump.
