All about me worksheets
Here are some fun all about me worksheets for English writing lessons. In these activities students must provide personal information about themselves. They are perfect for new or start of the year classes and help you and your students get to know each other better.
When using these handouts stress to your class that they should add as much detail as possible to their answers. This of course will depend on their English ability. If you decide to use the worksheets as speaking activities, you can ask follow-up questions to elicit more information.
How to use the all about me worksheets
These sheets are really versatile in that there are several ways that they can be used. The first and most obvious use is to give them to students as a basic writing task. You can also get them to read their finished writing aloud in the class for speaking and presentation practice.
You can also use the PDF worksheets as pair work or small group activities. For pair work get 2 students to sit opposite each other and give them both 2 different all about me worksheets. The students are to ask their partners the questions on the pages and write down their responses. For small groups, you can do something similar with students sitting in a circle instead.
Another way to use the sheets is to cut out all the questions as cards. The cards can then be used in all sorts of speaking activities. You can give students a few cards and they can walk around the class and ask different questions to different classmates.
You can use them for 1-minute talks drawn from a hat/bag where students must answer randomly picked questions. You can also use them for rapid-fire questions and see how many a student can answer within a set amount of time.
