Ideas for using the animal anatomy worksheets

There are some ways you can adapt these pages if you want to make them more challenging. First of all, you can cut the word bank from the bottom of the page. This will require learners to think of the vocabulary by themselves.

You can also add more words to be labeled on each animal’s body. This can include more complex animal anatomy to challenge higher-level students.

Another idea that is great for kids is to use one of the animal tracing worksheets. Once children have completed the creature’s outlines, they can go ahead and label the anatomy of the animals as best they can. Or, you can give them a selected word bank to use for this.

These worksheets can help complement students who are learning about the human body. People and animals share many body parts in common, such as eyes, mouths, sometimes legs, ears, backs, and nostrils, to name a few.

Learners who acquire new animal vocabulary will find it much easier to talk about and describe these wonderful beasts. Things like hoofs, tails, horns, fins, and wings belong to many different species.

Once they have an understanding of these new words, see if they can think of other animals that share the same body parts. For example, A fish has a fin, so do sharks, dolphins, and whales. Which creatures have hooves or wings? This is a great way to reinforce new words.
