In case you were wondering, initial F words are simply words that start with the /f/ sound. The beginning of a word is called the first or initial position. The /f/ sound usually comes from the letter F but can also come from the letters PH when they are combined together (the PH digraph).

To make the /f/ sound put your bottom lip behind your top teeth. Now blow air through your mouth. This sound is an unvoiced one, there should be no vibration in your throat at all.
