Here are some interesting farm animals worksheets and activities for kids. There are a variety of different exercises that include matching animals in different ways. They include simple vocabulary matching pages, card matching printables, cut-and-paste worksheets, as well as shadow matching.

The first worksheet above requires learners to match and write the names underneath the pictures of farm animals. There are 12 creatures, which, in order of the answers are: Horse, Cow, Sheep, Pig, Rooster, Duck, Goat, Turkey, Donkey, Rabbit, Bull, and Hen.

Unscramble Farm Animals Matching Worksheet

In this worksheet, there are two activities to be completed. First of all, the names of 7 typical farm animals are to be unscrambled and spelled correctly.

After that, learners are to match the names with the correct picture of the farm animals by drawing lines to link them.

Trace the Lines Farm Animal Matching Worksheet

Here is a good worksheet for young learners. Students are to trace and follow lines between baby animals and their parents.

It is best to use a different colored pencil or crayon for each line to make them clear to see. Once completed, the farm animals can be colored in, and if possible, children can write the names of the animals underneath their pictures.

Match the Farm Animals With Their Food

This is another matching exercise that involves drawing lines and coloring. Here, farm animals need to be matched with the food that they eat.

For those who are unsure: The pig eats the apples, the chicken eats seeds, the goat eats flowers, the cat has a bowl of milk, the cow eats hay, and the rabbit eats the carrot.

Farm Animals Close Up Picture Puzzle

This page is a bit different. There are close-up pictures of farm animals that are to be guessed and named. The names of the animals haven’t been included for matching to make it a bit more versatile and useful for older students.

You can, of course, provide the name for younger kids to match if need be. They are: a horse, a goat, a chicken, a turkey, a rabbit, a ram, a donkey, a pig, and a cow.

Parent and Child Farm Animals Matching Cards

Next, we have a set of 22 cards to match. They are pictures of farm animals with their offspring. All you need to do is print the page, cut out the cards, and let kids match them together.

It is a very simple but cute learning activity. Afterwards, you can ask learners questions about the animals and their babies for some simple speaking practise.

Food and Farm Animals Matching Cards

This activity is similar to the one above, except it involves matching farm animals with the food that they eat.

Once students have matched the cards correctly, see if they can make simple sentences. For example: “The horse eats hay”, or “Chickens like to eat seed”. You can expand this and go further by asking about other animals that are not included on this page.

Have a look at the animal food matching game if you are looking for something a bit more comprehensive.

Farm Animals Matching Cut and Paste Activity

This is a cut-and-paste activity that gets learners to match farm animals with their shadows. All kids need is a pair of scissors and some glue to complete the activity.

Once finished, kids can read and learn about the sounds that farm animals make.

Farm animal matching cut and paste activity

This is another cut-and-paste activity that is a bit larger and requires 2 pages to print. Again, just cut out the animals, the farmer, the barn, and the tractor, then paste them onto their corresponding shadows.

Easy dotted lines have been provided around the shapes for younger learners who may have difficulty cutting out the more intricate farm animal shapes.

Farm Animal Show Matching Worksheet

Finally, here is an easy shadow-matching worksheet for kids featuring 7 farm animals. It is, of course, very easy; once they are done, kids can label the animals if they have the necessary vocabulary and writing skills.
