There are so many things that you can do with these free printables. Try one or more of these fun ideas with children and students.
Coloring. The larger starfish are good for this and have some interesting designs that can be colored in and later used for other creative ideas.
Counting activities. The smaller templates are useful here. Cut out as many as you need and ask young learners to count them. You can also write numbers on them with a marker and even use them for basic math.
Ocean posters. Use the sea stars to decorate posters that students can add facts and information to. More ocean life can be drawn in by hand.
Murals. Think of a poster but on a much larger scale. You can decorate the walls of a classroom or a hallway. The coral reef cutouts will also be useful in this activity.
Alphabet and spelling activities. Just like with counting you can add the letters of the alphabet to the starfish to play educational games. You could even use them for spelling basic words.
If you want to spell more advanced words try these free printable letter tiles.
Under the sea mobiles. Once you have colored and cut out the starfish templates you like try suspending them from a stick or coathanger. You will only need some string or fishing line to do this. To make it extra interesting, add some of the fish outlines.
Decorate the sea stars. Go beyond pencils and crayons and decorate the starfish with small pieces of colored paper. You could also use small pebbles or anything that will hold with some craft glue.
