How much how many questions
Here is a free PDF and a list of questions with how much and how many. These conversation questions are just what you need if you are learning or teaching countable nouns, uncountable nouns, and quantifiers.
If you aren’t sure, we use how much to ask questions about uncountable nouns such as water, time, money, bread, and meat. We use how many to inquire about countable ones such as apples, cats, and exact numbers.
The first set of the how much how many questions are –
1 – How many times have you said “Hello” to someone today? Who did you last say hello to?
2 – How much time do you spend watching TV and reading books?
3 – About how many different cities would you say that you have lived in?
4 – How many times have you been to the beach this year? What did you do there?
5 – How much meat do you eat each week? Do you think this is too much or too little?
6 – How many different email accounts do you have? What do you use them for?
7 – How much do you care about nature and the environment? What worries you most?
8 – How many glasses of water do you drink each day? What else do you drink?
9 – How much furniture do you have in your home? What things do you own?
10 – Do you have a pet right now? How many pets have you had in your lifetime?
11 – How many hours a week do you spend doing chores? What housework do you do?
12 – How much does milk cost where you live? How much does a cup of coffee cost?
13 – How many states or provinces does your country have? Can you name them all?
14 – How much flour would you need to bake a cake? How many eggs would you need?
15 – How many good friends do you have? Where and when did you meet these people?
16 – How much do you spend on electricity each month? What uses the most power?
17 – How many plants do you have in your house? Where did the plants come from?
18 – How much do you think about eating food? What are your favorite kinds of food?
19 – What is the weather like during Christmas where you live? How many degrees is it?
20 – How much salt and ketchup do you like to put on french fries? What else do you use?
21 – How many students go to your local school? What grades are taught there?
22 – How much noise can you hear in your bedroom at night? What things can you hear?
23 – If you won a million dollars, how much money would you give to family and friends?
24 – How many jobs have you worked in the past? What is a job you would like to try?
25 – How much sleep do you get each evening? What time do you go to bed and get up?
How much and how many questions with answers
You will have noticed that in the free PDF, there are 8 pictures that are to be used to create how much and how many questions. The pictures can be interpreted in different ways and not everyone will form the same discussion questions.
Let’s have a look at what some of these questions could be and what answers could be given to them.
Picture 1 Question – How much rain did you get at your house last night?
Answer – Quite a lot! It started to rain heavily around midnight and didn’t stop for 5 hours.
Picture 2 Question – How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Answer – Just a few, I guess I only have 3 or 4 pairs.
Picture 3 Question – How many times a week do you do your laundry?
Answer – Maybe once or twice, it depends on the weather and if I have time.
Picture 4 Question – How much money was in your wallet when it was stolen?
Answer – It was a lot, I had just been to the bank and was going to pay my bills!
Picture 5 Question – How many times have you been to the movies this year?
Answer – I think aroundd 6 or 7 times. There have been some good movies out lately.
Picture 6 Question – How much will it cost you to fly home?
Answer – It is going to be expensive because it is the holidays. I think it will cost around $700.
Picture 7 Question – How many people climb those mountains during the holidays?
Answer – There are hundreds of people climbing them on the weekends, it gets very busy up there.
Picture 8 Question – How much coffee do you drink?
Answer – I drink heaps of coffee! I would say I probably drink at least 6 cups a day.
