SN Blend Words With Pictures
These 24 SN blend word picture flashcards help children connect words to images while practicing phonics skills. Language instructors and homeschoolers can use the cards to teach new vocabulary, practice reading words aloud, and play fun educational games. Some interesting ideas have been provided below.
Here are some fun flashcard ideas you may like to try-
Picture and Word Match. By cutting the words from the bottom of the printed picture cards, you can easily create a matching activity. Once this is done, place the picture flashcards on a table alongside their matching words. Have children match each picture to the correct word, saying the word aloud as they go.
Find the Card. Spread the flashcards around the room. Call out a word, such as snail or snowman, and have children find the corresponding picture as quickly as possible. This works very well as a 2 or 3-player game. You can split the class up into teams and let different players try in rounds.
Say It, Spell It. Show a flashcard and ask children to say the word, practice the initial SN blend, and spell the word aloud. For an extra challenge, have them write it on a whiteboard. This can also be turned into a fun, competitive team game in a classroom environment.
Make a Sentence. Give students one or more of the SN blend words and let them create a short sentence. You can demonstrate this first. Show a flashcard and give an example such as “The snail is slow” or “I see snow.” Younger learners can also repeat sentences modeled by the teacher.
